‘Trevolta’ announces local summer show dates
Local rock band Trevolta is moving onward and upward, set to play new venues starting April 30.
The group, comprised of Knoch High School graduates Austin Zarnick playing bass, lead guitar and vocalist Jesse Mark and Jason Brahler on percussion, have prepared a three-hour set list including selections by Kiss, George Thorogood, Styx and some original songs.
Mark said building their set means implementing elements of a good story.
“Dynamics and flow — high points and breathing points. When you see us, you’re going to get a show!” he said.
When it comes to playing these new venues, Mark said the band is most excited to play together and bring energy and life to the stage.
“That’s what I’m excited for: that moment the lights go down and our intro music crackles to life in the speakers. That moment I’m standing off ready to enter stage right, with my guitar in my hands,” he said.
According to Mark, hard rock and metal is a lifestyle Trevolta lives on and offstage.
“It’s not something we leave on the stage or pack away in a case. The older generation of rock is so baffled by who we are and what we play,” he said. “I think there’s some expectation on younger folks to play with modern flavors.”
Trevolta just reached its sixth anniversary, according to Austin’s dad Sean Zarnick, band manager, having come a long way from jamming in his basement to producing their first album in 2021.
“They play like 40- or 50-year-olds,” he said. “At their age, they have such a rhythm. They can find that groove in a song. They can find a groove, and everything is just perfect.”
Trevolta has opened for the band Molly Hatchet and played venues such as the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Jergel’s Rhythm Grill. Sean Zarnick said this new batch of gigs seeks to bring more awareness of the band.
“They’re truly Midwest America, truly the factory, hardworking man’s hard rock. That’s what we’re trying to promote them as,” he said.
The band considers themselves “brothers and nothing less” Mark said, with their shared goal to be as big as artists such as Van Halen and Ted Nugent.
“We turn everything up to 11. Why should our goals be any different? Those go to 11, too,” he said. “This is our life and we make good on our promises. You do the math where we’re headed. It’s rock or bust.”
Trevolta can be listened to on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music and Amazon Music. For more information on the band and a list of dates, visit trevoltamusic.com.
