SRU baseball sweeps Seton Hill
SLIPPERY ROCK — Luke Trueman and Alex Robenolt provided the heroics in Game 1 and Slippery Rock University drilled six home runs in the nightcap as The Rock swept a baseball doubleheader from Seton Hill Friday at Critchfield Park.
SRU (21-9, 7-7) won the games 3-2 in eight innings and 15-4.
Trueman struck out 11 in the first game. Robenolt hit a walk-off home run to decide the contest. Trueman had three hits, two RBI and two runs scored in the second game.
Trueman pitched 7.2 innings. Andy McClymonds got the final out in the eighth and got the win.
The Rock tallied 25 hits in the doubleheader. Robenolt had three hits, four runs and three RBI in the two games. Joel Spishock had a homer, two doubles and a single on the day.
Connor Hamilton belted a pair of homers, giving him a PSAC West-leading 10 on the season. He leads The Rock with 30 RBI. Eddie Morris had three hits, including a home run, and four RBI.
Abraham Mow, Jon Kozarian, Hamilton, Robenolt, Morris and Spishock all homered in the second game. It was SRU’s first six-home run game since 2015. Winning pitcher Devin Dunn improved to 6-1 on the year.
Seton Hill (23-9-1, 9-5) hosts SRU for a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday to complete the four-game series.
