John “Dick” Richard Clark Jr., 70, of Stroud Township, Pa., passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital-Monroe Campus.

He was the husband of Linda M. (Calco), with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.

Born June 22, 1951, in Butler, he was a son of the late John R. Sr. and Ruth (Sankey) Clark, and had lived in Monroe County since 1980.

He grew up on Institute Hill in Butler, and graduated from Butler High School and Butler County Community College. He played baseball in high school. In his earlier years he was a Butler City policeman.

Dick was a salesman with Ireland Coffee for many years, and then worked for National Entertainment Company until his retirement in 2017.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1106 in Stroud Township, and the George N. Kemp Post 346 American Legion in East Stroudsburg.

In addition to his wife, surviving are two children, Chris Clark and his wife, Liz, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Sheila Conway and her husband, Justin, of Albrightsville, Pa.; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Cheryl Fijolek of California, Marcy Schiebel and her husband, Jim, and Pam McLaughlin and her husband, Don; his brother, Kenny Clark of Butler; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Ann Frawley of Stockholm, N.J., Patricia Pizzano of Bloomingdale, N.J., and Pamela Titmus and her husband, Ray, of West Milford, N.J.; a brother-in-law, Marty Murphy, of Wellfleet, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Clark.

CLARK — Cremation was held privately for John “Dick” Richard Clark Jr., who died Tuesday, April 12, 2022.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
