Student members of Mars Area School District’s Key Club worked to assemble more than 8,000 meals on Saturday to benefit people in crisis situations.
The event, which has been held by the club since 2020, brings volunteers together to package bags of rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables, and flavorings that can be heated up with water to create a healthy meal.
The student organization works in conjunction with the Rise Against Hunger nonprofit food aid program. More than 8,000 meal packages put together by Key Club members will be sent to those in need, especially to people in disaster situations and developing countries.
