Elizabeth Grossman
Elizabeth “Beth” Jane Grossman, 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, April 1, 2022. She bravely faced the last months of her life with grace and courage as she endured cancer.
Beth stated she was thankful to God for the full and wonderful life she had.
Beth was born on April 2, 1943. Growing up on a farm, the only sister of four brothers, she developed her strong work ethic and competitive spirit. Beth was a 1961 Moniteau High School graduate, where she was voted most athletic and prom court attendant.
Beth met Sim, the love of her life, at the Etna Springs Skating Rink in Slippery Rock. After many dates at the iconic Hot Dog Shop in Butler, they married in 1961. Together, they would have three children. Beth was a wonderful homemaker and loved the home she and her husband built together.
Beth was a member of the West Sunbury United Church of the Nazarene, where she provided beautiful piano music for 66 years. Not only the church pianist, she filled other roles, such as Sunday school teacher, church board secretary and a preparer of many church dinners, and she was very active with her Bible study groups.
Beth was employed with the Moniteau School District as the high school secretary for 20 years. She loved family celebrations, taking her daily walks, and tending her flowers. She enjoyed traveling; she and Sim took many trips to see several destinations throughout the United States.
She is survived by her husband, Harold “Sim” Grossman, who tenderly cared for her during her illness; her daughter, Joloyn (Keith) Miller; and her son, Michael (Tracey) Grossman. She was most proud of her grandchildren, Caitlyn (Matt) Zaksheske; Sarah (Nathan) Lippert; Zachary and Carter Miller; and Nicholas, Joshua and Steven Grossman. Beth is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Susan (Daubenspeck) Grossman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Sara Smith; her brother, Ron Smith; and her son, Mark Grossman.
