I am humbled
As a second generation Ukrainian, I am humbled — as I image all others of Ukrainian descent are — for the support and concern of the citizens of Butler City; Butler County; the state of Pennsylvania; the United States of America; national and international corporations, both small and large; health organizations; citizens and governments of countries around the globe; neighbors; churches; children; and schools, all of whom have expressed support through actions, words, fundraising, donations and their heart-felt prayers for our beloved Ukraine, our motherland and her people.
Since none of us, with the exception of the Native Americans, are natural citizens of the United States of America, I encourage everyone whose motherland is a sovereign nation to fly the flag of their country along with the flag of the United States of America, to demonstrate that the world believes in freedom.
The flying of our flags will surely reach the desktop of Putin. He will see that we are united against his unprovoked attacks against nations that, like Ukraine, want to live in peace.
May God bless all of you who “Stand for Ukraine.” We Ukrainians are ever-grateful for your love and support, and especially for your prayers.
Karen K. Sheptak, Butler
