Candidates cry over debate rules raises eyebrows

The first rule for being a “servant of the people” should be that the people make the rules.

The pompous “candidates’ for governor of Pennsylvania who released their own terms for participating in a debate deserve to learn what it is like to be unemployed. That is the message they should receive from the people.

The candidates to “not serve the people but rather themselves “ have spoken. Along with breakfast in bed, they want to establish ground rules for the people who might ask questions that might be too difficult or embarrassing for them to answer. You know such as are you honest? Or do you plan to stay on the taxpayers payroll the rest of your life? Will you make any effort to improve the problems in this state or just line the pockets of family, friends and business associates?

Perhaps they would like to ask themselves their own questions. Don’t you think that would be amusing?

Bet the questions would be tough. How about “what was the name of your favorite pet and why?” Or “what color shirt would you expect your staff to wear on Tuesdays?”

Real barn burning of an evening there.

We really didn’t have any specific reasons to totally distrust these fine, community-loving, transparent politicians before these ridiculous demands for control of the debates during which voters would be given a look inside their minds.

They should be thanked for letting the people know early just how bad we could expect them to be if they wear able to sneak into office.

Do you suppose they bring their own bacon and eggs to a restaurant or car parts to a mechanic? All they have done here is brought the nails for the coffin to their political funeral.

They are all wealthy enough to buy a new job in government if they can’t hide their way into the governor’s mansion. Really makes you wonder what real agendas they are hiding, doesn’t it?
