Saxonburg Borough Council

At its meeting Tuesday night, Saxonburg Borough Council:

Approved advertising for bids to seal High Street, Roebling Drive and Alwine Road, and Horne Avenue in partnership with Clinton Township.

Chuck McGee, road superintendent, said the estimated cost for the project is $21,000.

He expects to have all bids in by late April.

Heard Jody Vettori, borough secretary, report that a full slate of five Mingle on Main events will be held in 2022. The popular outdoor street event will be held every third Thursday on Main Street, where vendors, food trucks and entertainment will be available. Mingle on Main is held from May to September.

Heard Vettori report that volunteers are being sought to participate in the borough’s annual Park Cleanup Day on April 2. The rain date is April 9. Those interested in participating should bring a rake and work gloves and arrive at Roebling Park at 9 a.m. Lunch will be provided.

Approved an increase in cost for a vendor spot at the annual Saxonburg Festival of the Arts from $150 to $200. Board member Sherry Weinzierl explained that no vendors complained about the increase, and that vendor fees benefit Roebling Park.

Approved a summer intern for the borough office at an hourly rate of $13 per hour.
