Connoquenessing Township still working on sewer update plan
CONNOQUENESSING TWP — Supervisors are still communicating with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection on a plan to create a sewage system and treatment plant to serve hundreds of residents of the township.
The township has been working on a sewage plan to comply with State Act 537, which requires certain municipalities to have a public sewage system, but in late October the supervisors decided to revamp the plan.
Supervisor Chairman Terry Steinheiser said at a Wednesday meeting that after hearing comments from many residents against the project for its cost and environmental impact, the supervisors are working to create a plan that will be more feasible for the township and its denizens.
He said input from the residents has been integral in forming a plan to comply with the DEP in a way favorable for residents.
