SRU’s Page gets PSAC tennis honor
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University junior Lois Page has been named PSAC West Women’s Tennis Player of the Week.
Page is 3-1 as The Rock’s No. 1 singles player to start the season. She is ranked No. 46 in the nation and is 2-2 in doubles thus far, teaming with Adriana Gonzalez Sanchez.
Butler grad Nash Pitcher of Week
GREENSBURG — Butler graduate Bryan Nash, a relief pitcher for Seton Hill University, has been named PSAC West Pitcher of the Week.
Nash earned a win and a save in a doubleheader sweep of Walsh. He struck out two in an inning of work to get the win in Game 1, then fanned two more in the seventh inning of Fame 2 to get the save.
Fukon, Gouley gain AMCC honors
ERIE — North Catholic graduate and Cranberry Township residet Kenny Fukon has been named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Co-Men’s Basketball Player of the Year.
The Penn State Behrend senior averaged 17.3 points per game to go with 7.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per contest. He ranked among the AMCC’s top seven in all three categories.
Knoch graduate PJ Gourley made first team All-AMCC, averaging 16.9 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.
SRU’s Rondeau gets lacrosse award
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University junior midfielder Charleigh Rondeau has been named PSAC West Women’s Lacrosse Athlete of the Week.
She scored two goals in a season-opening win over Shepherd, including the game-winner in the third quarter, and had three assists. She won 10 draw controls as well.
