Darla J. Lauschus, 71, of South Buffalo Township, passed away on Monday, Feb. 28, 2022, while in the company of family at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Harmar Township.

Darla was born in New Kensington, on Feb. 28, 1951, and was a daughter of the late Jean (McClellan) Friesel and William Hamilton.

Darla cleaned houses for many years, and was a caregiver for many friends and family members. She worked as an aide at Mason Manor in Buffalo Township, and had worked for a time at the old WelMart Gas station in Buffalo Township.

She enjoyed playing bingo and bowling. Her greatest love was her grandchildren.

Darla is survived by her husband of 47 years, Emil Fred Lauschus Jr.; and her children, Nathaniel Lauschus and Kate Slavik of Slippery Rock, Kristen and Mike Kearney of Allegheny Township, and Melissa and Sam Devlin of South Buffalo Township.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Donovin and Maliea Lauschus, and Arianna, Samantha and Declan Devlin; and her stepgrandchildren, Merrick and Monroe Long.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dorothy Hamilton and Jean and Milton Friesel; and her brother, Robert "Bobby" Hamilton.

LAUSCHUS — Family and friends of Darla J. Lauschus, who died Monday, Feb. 28, 2022, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport.

The funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Seth McClymonds Jr. of Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver officiating.
