Lippold

Howard T. “Ted” Lippold, 91, of Grove City passed peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, in Grove Manor.

Ted was born in Butler, on June 12, 1930, to Howard L. and Martha L. (Merkner) Lippold.

He married Dorothy L. Protzman on May 8, 1953.

Ted was a graduate of Butler High School in 1948, and served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1950 to 1952.

He retired in 1992 from NCR (National Cash Register), where he was a service technician for 40 years.

Ted was a member of East Main Presbyterian Church.

Throughout his life, he served on various church councils. While living in Eastbrook, he served as a school board member for Laurel School District, and when living in Mercer, he served on borough council.

Ted enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy at home; four children, Jeff Lippold of Houston, Texas, Greg (Vicky) Lippold of Bentleyville, Pa., Brian (Viola) Lippold of Gardiner, Maine, and Susan (Matthew) Cyphert of Grove City; four grandchildren, Emily (Aaron) Gummer, Alex Lippold, Zachary Cyphert and Erika Cyphert; his former daughter-in-law, Mary Lippold; two brothers, William (Mary) Lippold of St. Augustine, Fla., and Larry (Joanne) Lippold; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Lippold of Austintown, Ohio.

His parents; his sister, Brenda Lippold; and his brother, Donald Lippold, preceded Ted in death.

LIPPOLD — Family of Howard T. “Ted” Lippold, who died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday in the welcome center of East Main Presbyterian Church, 120 E. Main St., Grove City.

The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in the church.

Arrangements were handled by CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.
