Walter F. "Buck" Pfeifer, 78, of Butler, passed away on Jan. 26, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 21, 1943, in Evans City, he was the son of Frederick Pfeifer and Hazel Fiel Pfeifer.

Buck had worked as a craneman and carpenter for Armco, retiring in 2004, after 38 years.

He enjoyed car repair, carpentry and home repair, crossword puzzles, and John Wayne movies.

Surviving are his wife, Sherry Mays Pfeifer, whom he married Jan. 22, 1963; three sons, Mike (Michelle) Pfeifer of Butler, Matt Pfeifer of Apopka, Fla., and Marc Pfeifer of McLean, Va.; his sister, Judy Pfeifer of Saxonburg; two brothers, Carl (Carol) Pfeifer of Cranberry Township and Denny (Sherri) Pfeifer of Butler; and three grandsons, Luke, Samuel and Daniel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lois Kobet; and one brother, Gary Pfeifer.

PFEIFER — There will be no visitation for Walter F. "Buck" Pfeifer, who died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
