Donald Young Jr.
God gained a special angel in the unexpected passing of Donald D. Young Jr., of Butler, on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. He was the son of Donald D. Young and Lina Irene (Brewster) Young.
Don graduated from Moniteau High School and attended Butler County Community College. He retired from Armco (now Cleveland Cliffs, Butler Works) in April 1995. Don loved golfing with his wife and friends. He was a member of Unionville Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
He leaves behind his best friend and wife of 61 years, Arlene V. (Patterson) Young; and his beloved children, Tammy, of Pittsburgh, and Douglas, of Asheville, N.C. He is also survived by his brother, Paul Young, Summerville, S.C.; and a sister, Ruth Ann (Young) McDougal, North Port, Fla.; as well as a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Curtis; and siblings, Charles, Glenn, Susan (Marshall), Earl, William and James.
YOUNG — Those who wish to pay their respects for Donald D. Young Jr., who died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, may be received from 4 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with his pastor, Matthew Kail, officiating. Masks are required to ensure safety of all those present.
Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Unionville Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1114 Sunset Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
