McGowan

Edward J. McGowan Sr. of Karns City will celebrate his 90th birthday in June with a dinner celebration at a Butler restaurant with his children and grandchildren. Family and friends are asked to join in a 90th birthday card shower the entire month of January.

He was born Jan. 15, 1932, in Butler.

He married Patricia A. Murphy on Nov. 28, 1963, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. She died May 28, 1998. He was engaged to Verna M. Craig. She died Sept. 26, 2019.

He has six children, Ed (Trina) McGowan Jr. of Abilene, Texas; Eric (Cindy) McGowan of Pittsburgh; Mary (Mark) Northcott of Slippery Rock; Erol (Shai) McGowan of State College; Gene (Aimee) McGowan of Middlefield, Ohio; and Betsy (Danny) Coyle of Butler.

He also has 10 grandchildren.

McGowan is a retired Moniteau School District teacher.

He is a member of St. Faustina Parish.
