Homeowner displaced by fire in mobile home
CONNOQUENESSING — A homeowner escaped uninjured from a Wednesday morning fire that destroyed his mobile home in Connoquenessing.
The fire was reported at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at a home on Meadow Drive in the Woodland Meadows Mobile Home Park on Double Road in Connoquenessing.
“It was well-involved when I got at the scene, and I live two streets away,” said Lou Zimmerman Jr., chief of the Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company.
The male owner, who was home when the fire started, told firefighters an electrical problem might have sparked the fire, Zimmerman said.
The Red Cross responded to provide assistance to the owner, he said.
Volunteer fire departments from Evans City and Butler Township also responded.
Emergency responders cleared the scene at 9:44 a.m. State police fire marshals were notified about the fire.
