Butler bowling tops defending state champ NA

Eric Devore rolled a 621 series Wednesday as the Butler boys bowling team edged defending state champion North Allegheny, 4-3, at Family Bowlaway.

Rocco Rice added a 595 series and Marty Imhof a 582 series for the Golden Tornado.

The Butler girls defeated the Tigers, 7-0, as Makenzie Zimmerman rolled a 201 game and 531 series. Natalie Coughenour added a 517.

Both Butler teams are 4-1 on the year.

Freeport 7, St. Joseph's 0 — Freeport swept a match from St. Joseph's, the boys and girls teams winning by 7-0 scores.

Colin Cummings paced the boys victory with a 642 series, rolling games of 227, 212 and 203. Dylan Granata contributed a 235 game and 551 series.

Mackensie Livingston and Julia Cummings led the girls win. Livingston rolled a 642 series, including games of 246 and 201. Cummings had a 636 series, games of 229 and 223.

Alayna Rocco paced three North Catholic players in double figures, scoring 19 points in the Trojanettes' 56-30 win over Ellwood City.Tori Drevna added 18 points and Dacia Lewandowski 13 for North (8-3, 5-0), which won its fourth straight game.
