Knoch, Butler girls score road wins

Nina Shaw scored 26 points, including 5 3-pointers, as Knoch's girls basketball team rolled to a 50-33 victory at Highlands Monday night.

The win was the Knights' sixth in a row as the team improved to 9-2 overall, 4-0 in section play.

Madilyn Boyer added 10 points for Knoch, which scored 33 points in the first half.

Butler 60, Pine-Richland 51 — Aubree Tack led this section win for Butler with 15 points, eight rebounds and seven steals.

The Golden Tornado (7-4, 3-2), who outscored the host Rams 21-9 in the fourth quarter, also received 11 points from Justine Forbes and three treys from Hannah Aldridge.

Keira Croyle (15 points), Hailey Kriebel (13) and Kennedy Vogle (12) scored in double digits for Union.

Rossi McMillen and Rosie Carden both scored nine points for host Karns City.

Vinnie Clark drained 23 points in Freeport's 53-48 victory over Armstrong.The Yellowjackets (6-4) trailed 16-10 after one quarter, but earned a 20-7 edge in the second period.

Butler split a match with North Allegheny recently, the boys dropping a 5-2 decision and the girls winning, 7-0.Alex Ekas led the Golden Tornado boys with a 647 series and 265 game. Eric Devore added a 604.Harley Kriess paced the Butler girls with a 597 series and 236 game. Makenzie Zimmerman added a 528.

Slippery Rock's girls improved to 4-0 on the season with a 101-67 win over Sharon. The boys dropped to 1-3 with a 112-20 loss.Mollie Massella won the 200-yard individual medley and 100 butterfly for the Lady Rockets. Grace Olshanski won the 50 and 100-yard freestyles.Connor Wallace won the 100 freestyle and Cody Hartle the 100 breaststroke for the Rocket boys.
