Bocci breaks Clarion standard
Butler High School graduate and Clarion University freshman swimmer David Bocci on Friday broke a 33-year old school record when he swam the men’s 500 freestyle in four minutes, 30.17 seconds in a preliminary race at the Zippy Invitational, held at the University of Akron’s Ocasek Natatorium. He went on to place seventh in the event.
Bocci was also part of the Golden Eagles’ 400 medley relay quartet that broke another school standard. He teamed with Nick Soares, Paul Flowers and Connor Cary to post a time of 3:20.74, good for 11th place.
