ROCHESTER, Minn. — The Butler County Community College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Minnesota State Thursday night in the second round of the NJCAA Division III National Tournament.
Scores were 25-10, 25-13,. 25-14. Brenna Reisinger had eight kills for the Pioneers, Aslyn Pry six.
The Pioneers (17-2) won their first match at nationals, sweeping Rockland CC 25-17, 25-22, 25-16. Reisinger had 10 kills, Morgan Jack 29 assists.
Pry added seven kills, Abby Granato six and Morgan Frishkorn five in BC3's first national tourney appearance since 2009.
GREENVILLE — Seneca Valley graduate Julia Redilla, a junior midfielder on the Westminster College women's soccer team, has been named first team All-Presidents' Athletic Conference.Redilla led the PAC with 16 goals and 36 assists this season.
Numerous Butler County athletes have received All-Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference honors in their respective sports.Making first team were Moniteau's Hannah Burgoon in girls cross country, A-C Valley's Meah Ielase in volleyball, and Moniteau's Jacob Felsing in golf.Gaining second-team honors are Moniteau's Abbey Jewart and Jenna Zendron, A-C Valley/Union's Drew Whitcomb in girls cross country, Karns City's Griffin Booher and A-C Valley/Union's Payton Johnston in boys cross country, Union's Dominika Logue in volleyball, Moniteau's Dawson Wallace in golf.Third-team honorees are Karns City's Ashley Fox and A-C Valley's Lexi Ruckdeschel in volleyball.
