Bercurys' horse wins 5th straight

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Lady Newton, a filly trained by Bill Bercury and owned by Renee Bercury of Slippery Rock, won her fifth straight race during harness racing Tuesday at The Meadows.

Lady Newton won with a lifetime-best time of 1 minuite, 51.2 seconds.

Elsewhere on the card, trainers Aaron Johnston and his brother, Shawn Johnston, both of Evans City, swept the top three spots in Race 6, a $7,500 Conditioned Pace.
