We are shaking our heads in disbelief; no, actually, in utter disgust.

According to President Joe Biden the proper way to keep illegal aliens out of the country is to reward them with $450,000 each.

Apparently, the thinking is if you give them enough money to buy a resort in their own country, they will stay there.

You may or may not have agreed with the way the Trump administration tried to handle the illegal crossing of our southern borders. Like many other forms of criminals, the illegal aliens continue to get smarter and try to create controversy that may help their cause with those who would ask them to use the legal means of seeking entry to this country.

The recent trend was to include children and hope that would get them past the legitimate rules in place for seeking the privilege (not a right) of coming to live in the United States.

It made sense that when adults had to be detained for criminally crossing the border; that if there were children within the mob trying to enter, the children would be separated from the adults for their own safety. If they were family members, the entire family could have returned back across the border and remained together while they awaited hearings to see if they would be granted entry.

If not, it was possible they would be separated.

Right or wrong, that was the method for dealing with illegal immigration.

Fast forward one year, and with the government falling into the bad habit of printing money at a record rate and giving it away for any reason anyone can make up without expecting the persons cashing the free checks to earn it, President Biden declared on Saturday that he reached high in the sky and came up with a nice, fair number that each of the people who were detained while trying to sneak across the border be compensated (many prefer the term remunerated) for being separated from their children while committing the crime of illegal entry.

The magic number $450,000 each. That’s right $450,000.

As usual with politicians, they don’t have to show their work as the fifth-grade teacher would require a student to do. It could just as well have been $45 or $45 million.

These are not Native Americans, from whom we took the land, or even someone who’s property we want to take by eminent domain for the purpose of building a hospital or a highway.

These are illegal persons, not wanting to follow the same rules as others to gain entry, as most of our ancestors did.

At best, we owe them safe passage home if they fail to qualify to stay after a fair and impartial hearing. Though impartial would be difficult, knowing they have the propensity to commit crimes to get their way.

President Biden seems likely to follow former President Trump as a one-and-done president. This crazy move will haunt him and the Democratic Party going forward if his grab bag of money for the illegal immigrants is approved.

It is hard to imagine anyone in their right mind even thinking up this idea.

Oh, but we are talking about politicians aren’t we?

Nothing is impossible when they are giving away money that isn’t theirs.
