Samaritan Counseling

In addition to physical suffering and millions of untimely deaths, the COVID-19 pandemic ignited a sweeping mental health crisis. The Centers for Disease Control revealed unparalleled reports of anxiety and depression. Half of Americans surveyed said that their mental health had been adversely affected.

At Samaritan, we experienced a 37% rise in therapy sessions by the end of August 2020, compared to the previous year. Despite the negative impact that the pandemic had on our operations, we gained an opportunity to bless over 1,200 people — men, women and children — who turned to us for healing, solace and hope during the darkest year of their lives.

Samaritan’s doors are open to all people. We counsel those of all ages, faiths, ethnicities and gender identities and from all walks of life who suffer from hopelessness, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, the effects of traumatic events (violence, abuse, grief, etc.), stress of managing work, school and “everything else,” new or existing mental health issues worsened by the pandemic, and relational difficulties within marriages and families.

As caregivers in the mental health field, our therapists are not only licensed and highly skilled, but are people who inherently care and are driven to help others.

When the pandemic struck, we transitioned from in-person therapy to an online platform (and in some cases, counseling by phone), and helped our clients to adjust to a new way of working together.

Our therapists pour their hearts and energy into their work. We guide people through dark journeys, helping them to see and reach for the light at the end.

Are you or someone you know struggling? Don’t suffer in silence — we’re here to help. Regardless of where you live in Pennsylvania, call Samaritan at 412-741-7430 to schedule an appointment — in-person or virtual.

We wish you good health, safety and peace of mind. Samaritan accepts most insurances and offers assistance with fee subsidies for those who qualify. Please visit us at samaritancouseling.net to learn more.
