Oct. 23 — Natoreus L. Bailey Atwood, 20, of Butler, was charged with felony counts of burglary and trespass as well as misdemeanor possession of stolen property, related to an incident around 11:45 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Gabe's in Butler.Police said they responded to multiple alarms at the store, and they found Atwood, who appeared intoxicated and had a pair of boxer briefs with a Gabe's price tag on them.Police said Atwood admitted to drinking and said he “screwed up.” He showed officers to the unlocked door he entered, and they also found a pair of overalls behind the store.Oct. 18 — Ashley L. Friedrich, 36, of Butler, was charged with drug possession, related to a Sept. 8 domestic incident at Rotary Park in Butler.Police said they found Friedrich and a man in the park with both of their belongings scattered on the ground. Police said Friedrich consented to a search and handed an officer a cigarette pack that contained two stamp bags of suspected heroin.
11:51 a.m. Oct. 27 — Police responded to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of New Castle Road and Butler Commons.A vehicle driven by Sierra Pflugh, 18, of Butler hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Nicole Sanders, 43, of East Butler, which moved into a third vehicle driven by Kimberly Frye, 49, of Evans City.Police said no injuries were reported at the scene, but Pflugh was cited for speeding.12:51 p.m. Oct. 26 — Police responded to a vehicle crash on Fairground Hill Road.Police said a 17-year-old Butler boy lost control of his vehicle and slid into the guard rail in the northbound lane. Police said there was oil on the road causing slippery conditions.Police said Barlow was not injured, and Butler Township Road Department and Butler Township Fire District 3 were called to clean the road.Oct. 19 3:58 p.m. — Police responded to a one-car crash on South Duffy Road.Police said Tim Schoeffel, 58, of Butler was affected by a physical condition, left the road and hit a tree. Schoeffel was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital.12:53 p.m. Oct. 19 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of New Castle and North Duffy roads.Police said vehicles driven by Daniel Weichey, 42, of East Butler, and Janice Fox, 41, of Karns City, crashed at the intersection, but there were no injuries reported.
Oct. 26 — Shannon L. Winters, 39, of Boyers, was charged with felony counts of theft and possession of stolen property, related to a stolen unemployment check.Police said Winters' friend told officers that she asked Winters to return the check to the unemployment office because she believed it to be defective.She allegedly said instead Winters deposited the check into her own account, stealing about $3,432.Oct. 22 — Benjamin R. Newton, 21, of New Castle, was charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault related to a domestic incident at the Pine Glen apartment complex in Slippery Rock Township.Police said they found Newton lying outside on the grass and highly intoxicated. As EMS put Newton on a stretcher, he spit on one of the troopers.Police said they talked with a woman who had driven Newton home from the bar. She told officers she was helping Newton out of the car when he elbowed her in the face and slammed her hand in the car door.Police said another woman approached Newton, and he punched her in the face.
Oct. 20 — Michael C. Fisher, 22, of Ellwood City, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a July 23 traffic stop at the intersection of West new Castle Street and Route 588 in Zelienople.Police said they stopped the vehicle for erratic driving. Police said they smelled marijuana in the vehicle, and field sobriety tests showed Fisher was impaired.Police said they recovered suspected marijuana found in plain view. Police said a blood test was conducted, but the type Fisher allegedly smoked cannot be seen on current testing regiments.
