Cranberry Township is hosting a drug take-back event and a Lions' Club eyeglass donation drop off Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the rear parking lot of the Municipal Center on Rochester Road.

The drug take-back provides a safe way to dispose of unused, unwanted or expired medications. The Lions Club will give the donated glasses to those in need.

Medications can be disposed of in the original container or by removing the medication from its container and disposing of it directly into the disposal box. Identifying information should be removed from containers before disposal.

Liquid products such as cough syrup should remain sealed in their original container. Intra-venous solutions, injectables and syringes will not be accepted due to potential hazard posed by blood-borne pathogens. Social distancing measures will be in place.
