Karns City beats Brookville 41-7

Luke Garing rushed for three touchdowns and Karns City's defense held Brookville in check while scoring a 41-7 road football win Friday night in a battle of unbeatens.

Garing scored on runs of 5, 15 and 5 yards for the Gremlins (5-0). Eric Booher scored on a 5-yard run for Karns City and Cooper Coyle scored on an 8-yard run.

Zach Kelly returned a kick 70 yards to complete the rout.

Garing carried 16 times for 106 yards, Jayce Anderson 15 for 93 for the Gremlins.

Brookville (4-1) had averaged 40 points per game against Karns City in the teams' four most recent regular season meetings. The Raiders won all four of those games.

Union/A-C Valley 41, Elk County Catholic 0 — Bailey Crissman threw a pair of touchdown passes and Mike Card rushed for 109 yards to lead the Falcon Knights.

Caden Rainey ran for a touchdown and caught a scoring pass for Union/ACV (3-1). He also returned a punt for a touchdown.

Peter Hardy returned an interception 52 yards for a score. Skyler Roxbury returned a pick 60 yards for a touchdown.

Golf

Tyler Figlioli carded a 78 to place third overall and Butler took third as a team with a score of 324 at the Tam O'Shanter Invitational.

There were 24 teams in the tournament.

Girls Golf

Paige Scott carded a 36 for medalist honors, but Butler (9-3, 8-2) dropped a 163-178 decision to Fox Chapel to close the regular season.

Girls Tennis

Knoch junior Ally Bauer came up short in her bid for a WPIAL Class 2A singles championship, falling to Sewickley Academy sophomore Ashley Close in Friday's final at North Allegheny High School.

Close, the No. 4 seed, won the match by scores of 6-3, 6-3.

With the WPIAL sending its top three finishers to the state tournament, Bauer will advance.

Her teammate, Knoch's Emily Greb, had a chance to join her, but lost a 6-2, 7-5 decision to South Park's Nicole Kempton in Friday's consolation match.

Boys Soccer

Caleb Oskin scored the winning goal with 37 seconds remaining — off a corner kick from Nick Dellarosa — as Knoch defeated Indiana, 2-1, Thursday.

Oskin scored the Knights' first goal as well, assisted by Grant West.

Girls Soccer

Franklin Regional 9, Knoch 1 — Emma Broman scored the Knights' lone goal, assisted by Macrina Robb. Grace Foehringer had nine saves.
