Velma Kiser Blain, 100, of Butler, passed away on Sept. 4, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Center Township, and was the daughter of the late H. Braden Kiser and the late Norma Shakely Kiser.

Velma is survived by her two sons, Dale A. Blain of Butler and Larry R. Blain of Butler; seven grandchildren, Jodi Stockert, Jennifer Clark, David Herold, Tammi Delano, Tiffany Lineman, Crissy Warnick and Jaci Warnick; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Paul Kiser.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur G. Blain, whom she married Jan. 29, 1941, and who passed away July 5, 1999; one daughter, Marilyn Herold; six sisters, Ina Weisenstein, Norma Snodgrass, Viola Yartz, Carol Book, Isabell Bacher and Cleo Baxter; and three brothers, Dale Kiser, Willis Kiser and Raymond Kiser.

BLAIN — There will be no public visitation or funeral services for Velma Kiser Blain, who died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021.

A private burial will take place at Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Arrangements were handled by Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
