School bus crash injures 1

After a school bus and SUV collided Thursday afternoon near Butler Senior High School, the bus pulled into the parking lot to await towing.

BUTLER TWP — One student reported a minor injury after a crash involving a school bus Thursday afternoon near Butler Senior High School.

According to Butler Township police, a Valley Lines bus and a Ford Explorer collided around 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of New Castle Road and Campus Lane. The bus was transporting Butler Area School District students.

One student, who was a passenger on the bus, complained of a headache following the crash, police said. The student was not transported to a hospital.

The steering system of the school bus was damaged after the crash, police said. The bus was to be towed for repairs.

Two township police cruisers and an ambulance responded to the scene.
