SR's Wolak cards 30 for record on course
Rocket junior shoots back-to-back eagles
Slippery Rock junior golfer Jacob Wolak shot a 67 Wednesday at Deer Creek Golf Course, placing first in a District 10 Region 2 match hosted by West Middlesex.
Wolak's round included consecutive eagles on holes 16 and 17, carding a school and course-record 30 on the back nine.
The previous course record was 32. Wolak finished one stroke shy of the Slippery Rock school record of 66 for 18 holes.
Jack Hadley added an 80 for the Rockets, who shot 358 to place fifth out of eight teams.
Grove City was first with 320 strokes.
Knoch 219, Kiski Area 223 — Cory Voltz led the Knights (2-2) with a 41. Jordan Crites added a 42 during the match at Butler Country Club.
Jason Buczak carded a 40 to earn medalist honors for Kiski Area.
Knoch plays Hampton Thursday at Wildwood Country Club.

Emma Covert was medalist with a 46 Tuesday as Moniteau won the first Mega Match of the season with 149 points at Aubrey's Dubbs Dred.Brynne Barger added a 50 and Kendall Sankey a 53 for the Warriors. Cranberry finished second in the team standings with a 169.
Butler scored five goals in the third period for a come-from-behind 9-8 win over Chartiers Valley in its season opener. Kyle Grasha scored four goals, all in the final period and had five points overall.Brody Simko had a goal and three assists, Parker Worsley had two goals and an assist, Colton Gregory and Brayden Povlick a goal and assist each.Butler will play Seneca Valley in the St. Margaret's Tournament Tuesday.
