Slippery Rock High School vice principal Garrett Miller

The first day of school has passed many times for Garrett Miller, but this one was one of the most exciting for him yet.

After teaching social studies at Slippery Rock Area High School for the past five years, Miller assumed the role of assistant principal when the school board approved his hiring Monday.

Being in a new position has Miller excited for new experiences.

“It's definitely a change of perspective, but I think it's going to be a great year,” Miller said. “I'm looking forward to seeing all the great things the teachers are doing and looking to get good school culture going.”
