Woman charged with DUI on consecutive days
A 33-year-old Butler woman has been charged with driving under the influence on consecutive days in June.
State police recently charged Krystal Kay Krauchak, 33, of Butler, with DUI and endangering the welfare of children following a June 8 incident in Summit Township and with DUI following a June 9 incident at the state police barracks.
The June 8 incident began when a motorist contacted police and reported a Kia sport utility vehicle was being driven erratically by a woman driver who had a small child in the vehicle on Route 422, according to a criminal complaint.
The witness told police the vehicle turned onto Oneida Valley Road, where the driver parked in a business parking lot, got out of the vehicle and fell down in the parking lot, police said.
She then approached a house and unsuccessfully tried to enter before she began punching the door and yelling, police said.
Police located her there, took her into custody and took her to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood-alcohol test.
She told police she smokes marijuana and has a medical card, police said.
Results from the tests came on July 27, showing she had a blood alcohol level of 0.355% at the time of the test, and marijuana in her system, police said. In Pennsylvania, a blood alcohol level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.
The next day, police said, Krauchak arrived at the barracks with her 3-year-old son to get information about the June 8 incident, but troopers noticed her speech was slurred and she spoke in a rambling, illogical manner.
She allegedly admitted to being under the influence of marijuana. She was taken back to the hospital for another blood test. The results came on July 27, allegedly indicating her blood alcohol level was 0.322% at the time of the test.
