King Jr. tops Friday's Lernerville show
BUFFALO TWP — Rex King Jr. took advantage of a restart on the 13th lap to vault into contention and went on to win the Modified feature Friday night at Lernerville Speedway.
King’s father, Rex Sr., started in the front row and began to stretch his lead before Jim Rasey’s stopped car forced the restart. King Jr. jumped from fourth to second on the restart and wound up taking the lead on Lap 16. He survived two late cautions to win the race.
Garrett Krummert finished second.
Cole Macedo led all 25 laps of the Sprint feature, doing a complete 360-degree spin on Lap 22 to avoid bringing out a caution and ruining his chances of victory. The win was Macedo’s first-ever at Lernerville.
Colton Flinner claimed his first Late Model victory of the season at the Sarver oval. He out-dueled Jared Miley, taking the lead for good from him on the 20th lap. Michael Norris wound up taking second.
Corey McPherson scored his 50th career Pro Stock win at Lernerville, pulling within two of Joe Kelley’s track-record 52 wins.
Fab4 racing continues at Lernerville this Friday.
