Sentences handed down Thursday in Butler County Common Pleas Court by Judge William Shaffer:
Scott Garlow, 48, of Donora, was sentenced to serve six to 23.5 months in prison, but immediately paroled and ordered to serve 12 months probation for his guilty plea to a felony count of forgery.
No action was taken on other charges including 15 felony counts of forgery, five felony counts of access device fraud, five felony counts of theft by unlawful taking, five felony counts of receiving stolen property, three felony counts of conspiracy to commit forgery and single felony counts of conspiracy to commit access device fraud, conspiracy to commit theft by unlawful taking and conspiracy to commit receiving stolen property filed by Zelienople police following a Feb. 26, 2020 incident.
Stephanie Lynn Evanoski, 32, of New Castle, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in prison, but immediately paroled and ordered to serve a total of 18 months probation and pay a $1,000 fine for her guilty plea to four charges in two separate cases.
In one case, she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and recklessly endangering another person in a case filed by state police following an Oct. 29, 2020 incident.
No action was taken on a felony count of endangering the welfare of children; misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, false identification, endangering the welfare of children, attempted escape; and three summary traffic violations.
In the second case, she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person filed by state police from an Oct. 19, 2020 incident. No action was taken on other charges including a felony count of attempted robbery and misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and attempted theft. She was accused of attempting to rob the Pilot Gas Station in Muddy Creek Township.
John W. O'Donnell Jr., 40, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six-12 months in prison followed by 12 months of probation for his guilty plea to two charges in two separate cases.
In one case, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of simple assault filed by Butler police following an Oct. 17, 2020 incident in which he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend. No action was taken on a felony count of strangulation and misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats and simple assault. In the second, case he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct filed by city police following a July 2019 incident.
Courtney Mehalich, 40, of McDonald, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation and ordered to pay $1,147.78 in restitution to Costco for her guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge of conspiracy to commit retail theft filed by Cranberry Township police following a March 3, 2017 incident. No action was taken on two felony counts of criminal trespass, two felony counts of conspiracy to commit criminal trespass, two misdemeanor counts of retail theft, two misdemeanor counts of receiving stolen property and a misdemeanor count of conspiracy to commit retail theft.
Storm Michael Comly, 29, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six months probation for his guilty plea to misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia filed by state police following a January 2019 incident. No action was taken on a misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance.
Christopher R. Hartman, 45, of Zelienople, was sentenced to serve six months probation for his guilty plea to a summary charge of driving with suspended license and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana filed by Butler Township police following a July 1, 2020 incident. No action was taken on the small amount of marijuana charge and other charges including a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and a summary charge of driving without a license.
Craig Alan Kovacic, 33, of Butler, was sentenced to six to 12 months in prison, but was immediately paroled to service 12 months of probation for his guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge of recklessly endangering another person filed by state police following a Nov. 7, 2020 incident. No action was taken on misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of children and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Joshua Russell Gaiser, 29, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six months of probation for his guilty plea to a misdemeanor count of fleeing or attempting to elude police followed by 90 days of probation for his guilty plea to a summary charge of driving with a suspended license filed by state police following an Aug. 24, 2020 incident. No action was taken on five other summary traffic charges.
Samantha Lynn Bradley, 36, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation and fined a total of $5,000 for her guilty pleas in two driving under the influence cases filed by state police. She was given credit for time already served in prison.
In one case, she pleaded guilty to DUI (3rd offense) and DUI with a suspended license filed following a June 29, 2020 incident. No action was taken on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and four summary traffic violations, and two other DUI charges and a summary traffic violation were withdrawn.
In the second case, she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of DUI (second offense) and recklessly endangering another person filed following a May 20, 2020 incident. No action was taken on a felony count of endangering the welfare of children, another DUI charge and six summary traffic violations.
