Senior citizens getting back to community events
Butler brothers Tom and Gene McLaughlin have been attending more events over the past few months.
Particularly, they make it a point to go to as many events and dinners at the Tanglewood senior center as they can.
“Every time there is one, we come back,” Tom McLaughlin said. “It's better than doing the dishes at home.”
Charlie Roche, manager of Tanglewood Center, said the events hosted by the center have been gaining popularity ever since it closed for a few months in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. One of the center's most popular events is the monthly pork chop dinner, which Roche said gets about 600 attendees each time.
