Sammy the Sea Otter, the mascot of the U.S. Coast Guard, is one of many safety and community partners that will be on-site throughout the Moraine State Park Regatta weekend.

MUDDY CREEK TWP — The 22nd annual Moraine State Park Regatta returns to Lake Arthur's South Shore, 225 Pleasant Valley Road, Portersville, Friday through Sunday.

Festivities will span most of the shoreline and include both land and water activities. The regatta is open from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The event has grown in popularity in recent years, drawing a record of more than 23,000 attendees in 2019 before being postponed in 2020. Sponsored by Diehl Toyota, the event is free, including parking.

“We wanted to make up for missing out last year by extending the regatta's presence, both physically on the shoreline and over the weekend by adding an additional day on Friday,” said Amanda Becker, event director. “Plus, there are more free activities and outings over the weekend than ever before.”

Free recreational activities are available with provided equipment at the annual Moraine State Park Regatta, but registration in advance on the regatta website is encouraged. Sailing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding will all be offered throughout the weekend.
