Patricia Cirillo

Patricia Cirillo, 87, of Slippery Rock, passed away at Grove Manor in Grove City on Thursday, June 17, 2021.

She was born June 26, 1933, in Argentine, Pa., to Thomas Thompson and Ruth C. (Burk) Thompson.

She graduated from West Sunbury High School in 1950. In the same year, she married the love of her life, Joseph Dale Cirillo.

Pat enjoyed life and had an adventurous spirit. She traveled all over the country, including all 48 contiguous states, as well as some international travels, including the Bahamas, Aruba and others.

Pat was a cheerleader for Pittsburgh sports teams. She had fond memories of watching the Pittsburgh Pirates with her family.

One of Pat's favorite hobbies was reading. She enjoyed reading the Butler Eagle.

Pat was known for the swimming pool at her house. Many people, including children, grandchildren and many friends, swam and shared numerous good times at Patricia's pool. As a result, Pat received the nickname of “Grandma Fish,” which is a name still used by some friends of her grandchildren to this day.

Amongst her many adventures, attending country music concerts may have been one of her favorites. Patricia had a lifelong love for country music. She went to hundreds of concerts, even attending Willie Nelson's Picnic in 1985. She was Waylon Jennings' number one fan, attending over a hundred of his concerts.

Survivors include her daughters, Bobbi J. Augustine of Grove City, Lori L. Lanigan of Harrisville, and Becki S. (John) Suesser of Slippery Rock; her sister, Dr. Kathleen Kramer of Harrisburg; her grandchildren, Mitchell J. (Amy) Augustine of Grove City, Lindsay B. Lanigan of Harmony, Jessi C. (Ben) Donlin of Brockway, and Grant T. (Sabrina) Ahrens of Slippery Rock; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law, Rose Cirillo of Hermitage, Carla Hart of Greenville, N.C., and Ladda Thompson of Seattle, Wash.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Patricia L. Ahrens; two sons, Brad Cirillo and Pete Cirillo; her brother-in-law, Paul Cirillo; and two sons-in-law, Jim Augustine and David Lanigan.

CIRILLO — Funeral services for Patricia Cirillo, who died Thursday, June 17, 2021, will be private.Interment will follow in Slippery Rock Cemetery.Arrangements were entrusted to Smith Funeral Home of Slippery Rock.Memorial contributions may be given to the New Castle Rescue Mission 319 S.
