Ellaura Shoop, a graduate of Butler County Community College at LindenPointe from Grove City, will do a reading of her 260-page paperback about meerkats at 6 p.m. July 22 at Slippery Rock Community Library.

According to a news release from BC3, Shoop’s book, “The Meer: Perilous Ground,” is a middle-grade novel intended for students ages 11-14, with content adults may also find interesting.

Shoop will also do a book signing from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 18 at Keystone Safari in Grove City.
