ZELIENOPLE ­— As is the case in its neighboring Harmony, a Showtime series starring Jeff Daniels is set to film a scene in Zelienople next week.

At its borough council meeting Monday, Zelienople approved a request to film a scene for “American Rust” outside a house on South High Street on July 19, although the names of those present and what type of scene it will be were not immediately available.

The filming, according to assistant location manager Nate Patterson, will include one scene outside the South High Street house, with production taking a brief pause and resuming filming inside the house later.
