Mother of ATV accident victim happy with response time of rescuers

The 9-year-old victim of an ATV crash Friday evening is recovering at his home in Lancaster Township, according to his mother, Amy Montgomery.Montgomery said her son was riding the ATV in the woods when it tipped over, trapping his legs underneath. She said, however, that first responders got to the scene quickly and were able to transport her son to a hospital.His only major injury is a fractured arm. He also suffered a few bruises in the fall.“We spent the night in the hospital, but they let him go in the morning, and we went to the Mars Fourth of July parade,” Montgomery said. “He won't be able to play baseball this fall and isn't able to swim, so it's not fun to have a cast in the summer.”
