5:55 p.m. June 25 — Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Evans City and South Benbrook roads in Butler Township.Police cited Seth Steffler, 18, of Monaca, for failing to yield the right of way and for a learner's permit violation after he made an improper left turn that caused the crash.A vehicle driven by Scott McNeil, 43, of Butler, collided with Steffler's vehicle.Butler Township Fire District 3 and Butler Ambulance Service assisted at the scene. The report did not note whether injuries were caused by the crash.

June 24 — Scott A. Wiles, 58, of Zelienople, was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, related to a March 24 domestic dispute at Sheetz in Cranberry Township.Police said Wiles claimed he was a victim in an altercation at the pumps. According to police, Wiles told another customer to stay away from him as the other man was not wearing a mask.Police said Wiles pulled a hatchet from his truck and later pushed the man away before leaving the business and calling 911.June 24 — Natalie M. Schmid, 38, of Pittsburgh, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a May 24 report of an intoxicated driver in the parking lot of PNC Bank in Cranberry Township.Police said they found Schmid matched the description from the report. Police said field sobriety tests showed Schmid was impaired, and a blood test showed her blood-alcohol content at 0.364%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.

June 23 — Dana E. Martin, 26, of Grove City, was charged with resisting arrest following a traffic stop on Route 108 in Slippery Rock.Police said they intiated the stop because Martin was driving his truck aggressively behind another vehicle in “an apparent road rage incident.”Police said Martin parked his truck and fled on foot. Police said they chased and caught Martin, who they later found to have a warrant for his arrest in Butler County.

June 24 — Robert K. Conaway, 38, of Venango, was charged with a first-offense, controlled substance DUI, stemming from a May 7 traffic stop on Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township.Police said they stopped Conaway for driving 72 mph in a 55 mph zone. Police said Conaway admitted to taking meth before driving, and a later blood test showed meth, amphetamine, fentanyl and norfentanyl in his system.June 24 — Two men, Gary F. Sweesy, 47, of Harrisville, and Scott L. Moyer, 33, of Slippery Rock, were charged in relation to a theft of tire rims and radiators Dec. 5 from LKQ Corp. in Slippery Rock Township.Police said Sweesy was a former employee who was fired after he was suspected of previous thefts. Police said he was spotted on company security footage Dec. 5 despite his not being allowed on the property.Police said employees also found rims and other items that appeared to be staged for theft, and they found 30 tires missing.In an interview with police, Sweesy allegedly told troopers he had dropped off Moyer, who stole 15 radiators.Both men were charged with misdemeanor theft, and Sweesy also was charged with trespassing.June 24 — Shad J. Bailey, 43, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense, controlled substance DUI, stemming from an April 14 traffic stop on Route 8 in Butler Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for an expired registration. Police said they saw a smoking pipe and an open beer can inside the vehicle.Police said field sobriety tests showed Bailey was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood contained marijuana and a blood-alcohol content of 0.033%. Bailey's blood-alcohol content falls below the level set by Pennsylvania, which is 0.08%.June 24 — Brian K. Diamond, 54, of Pittsburgh, was charged with a first-offense DUI following an investigation into a May 1 hit-and-run crash on East Portersville Road in Muddy Creek Township.Police said they found Diamond's vehicle abandoned at the scene. Police said they found Diamond drunk at his camper, and he admitted he had not consumed alcohol since arriving there.Police said a later breath test showed Diamond's blood-alcohol content at 0.152%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.June 23 — Lacey L. Vanwormer, 34, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense, controlled substance DUI, stemming from a May 12 report of an erratic driver on Route 422 in Franklin Township.Police said they located the vehicle described in the report and it was riding on the center line, prompting a traffic stop. Police said field sobriety tests showed Vanwormer was impaired.Police said they found suspected meth and a smoking device inside the vehicle. A later blood test showed caffeine, amphetamine, meth, benzoylecgonine, gabapentin, hydroxyzine, buprenorphine and norbuprenorphine in Vanwormer's system.June 23 — Allen R. Claypoole, 27, of Hilliards, was charged with misdemeanor strangulation and summary harassment, related to a June 1 altercation with a neighbor.Police said Claypoole and his neighbor argued over the ownership of a tractor the neighbor was using to mow his lawn. Police said Claypoole grabbed the neighbor by the neck and then bent his arm back to retrieve the key to the tractor.June 23 — Jason N. Prementine, 48, of Slippery Rock, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a June 20 traffic stop on Route 8 in Clay Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for traveling 25 mph in a 45 mph zone and crossing lines on the road. Police said field sobriety tests showed Prementine was impaired, and a breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.092%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.June 23 — Joan M. Motonis, 53, of Bridgeville, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a June 16 report of a vehicle being driven “all over the roadway.”Police said they encountered Motonis parked at a residence in a vehicle matching the one described in the report. Police said field sobriety tests showed Motonis was impaired, and she later refused to have her breath tested.June 23 — Michael F. Curran, 29, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a June 19 traffic stop on East Brewster Road in Center Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign. Police said field sobriety tests showed Curran was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood-alcohol content was 0.135%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.June 23 — Mark J. Fetters, 21, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense, controlled substance DUI following a two-vehicle, head-on crash May 5 on West Sunbury Road in Marion Township.Police said Fetters crossed the center line, causing the crash.Police said while Fetters was being treated by EMS at the scene, officers saw drug paraphernalia in the front seat of his vehicle.Fetters later submitted a blood sample for testing, which allegedly showed Clonazepam in his system.
