Erin Neff of Valencia was honored at the Student Life and Leadership Awards at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, during the spring 2021 semester.

Neff, a graduate of Mars Area High School majoring in neuroscience psychology and psychology, received the Brain Center Outstanding Leader Award. The award is given in recognition of outstanding leadership, teamwork and communication; contributions made to the Brain Center for Community Engagement; and service as a member of the Brain Center Leadership Team.

Grove City College student Erin Greer of Valencia posted victories in recent financial planning and stock picking competitions.Grove City College students comprised the top team in the Adirondack Cup stock-picking contest and were three of the top five winners of the recently completed Chartered Financial Analyst Society of Pittsburgh's Collegiate Financial Planning Competition.

The John Carroll University's College of Arts & Sciences in University Heights, Ohio, presented academic awards to more than 250 students during the 2020-21 academic year including:Makayla Kampas, of Mars, in the Communication, and Theology & Religious Studies departments, earned the Michael Mansmann Award for Creative Writing in Communication Theta Alpha Kappa Inductee.Ava Minutello of Cranberry Township, in the Classical & Modern Languages & Cultures Department, earned the Rev. Joseph A. Kiefer, SJ, Award for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement in Classical Languages.
