Mars Area Senior High School Graduation
The Mars Area Senior High School commencement ceremony is set for 6 p.m. June 3 on the Mars Area High School campus.
Student speakers are
Elizabeth Long; McKenna Bowes; Macy Barshick, the student-selected speaker; and
Genevieve Thomas, class president
Elizabeth is the daughter of Daniel and Tara Long of Mars. She is a member of Student Council, National Honor Society, national Spanish honors society and Enrichment Club. She also played varsity volleyball and track and field. She plans to attend Penn State.
McKenna is the daughter of Scott and Tracy Bowes of Valencia. She is a member of National Honor Society, national German honors society, Key Club, Interact Club and Water Protection Club.She has also participated in varsity cross country and track and field. She plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh.
Macy is the daughter of Kurt and Joleen Barshick of Mars. She is a member of Student Council, Diversity Club, the school newspaper and the school play. She plans to attend the University of Alabama.
Genevieve is the daughter of Linard and Heidi Thomas of Evans City. She is a member of National Honor Society, national French honors society, science national honors society and the Color Expression Club.She is also a member of the school's cheerleading team. She plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh.Class officers are <b>Genevieve Thomas,</b> president; <b>Megan Mann,</b> vice president; <b>Samantha King,</b> secretary; and <b>Lexus Haskins,</b> treasurer.
