Supervisors seats draw numerous candidates
Donegal Township Supervisor Michael Haid is competing against four challengers for the Republican Party nomination in the upcoming primary.
The field of challengers includes Michael Pears, Zach Scherer, Dalton Geibel and Bill Simmons Jr.
The winner in the primary will run for a six-year term as supervisor in the Nov. 2 municipal election.
In Connoquenessing Township, three candidates are seeking the GOP nomination to replace Supervisor Edward Rupert, who is not running for re-election.
The candidates running for a six-year term as supervisor include Larry Spangler, Brendan Linton and Tom Huff.
A supervisor seat is open in Concord Township, in addition to the township auditor seat, each with a term of six years.
Current township supervisor chairwoman Kandi L. Nassy is running for re-election as a Republican, and is being challenged by Edward A. Michael for the seat.
Two Republicans, Ian Manuel and Robert H. Niggel, are the candidates for township auditor. The candidates couldn’t be reached for comments about the election.
