Sentencings
Judge William Shaffer handed down the following sentences Thursday:
Rodrick Hatten, 29, of Texarkana, Ark., was sentenced to two years of probation for disorderly conduct obscene gesturing and harassment. Hatten was charged on Nov. 16 and he pleaded guilty on April 21.
John Edward Smith Jr., 59, of Butler, was sentenced to six months of probation with the first 14 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring. Smith was charged on June 10 and pleaded guilty on March 29.
Frank Cole Elliott, 22, of Butler, was sentenced to 72 hours to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine for driving under the influence. Elliott immediately was paroled with the first three days on house arrest with electronic monitoring. Elliott was charged on March 26, 2020, and pleaded guilty on March 22. In a second case, Elliott was sentenced to five years of intermediate punishment with the first 105 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring and the remainder of his sentence on probation for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. He also must pay $2,500 in fines. Elliott was charged on Oct. 14 and pleaded guilty on March 22.
Richard Henry Smith, 20, of Bruin, was sentenced to three to 18 months in jail with immediate parole on house arrest with electronic monitoring for receiving stolen property. Smith also must pay $12,444 in restitution to the victim. Smith was charged on Oct. 8 and pleaded guilty on March 31.
Jason M. Nimal, 45, of Dayton, was sentenced to one to six years in jail for two counts of criminal trespass breaking into structure. Nimal must also pay $525 in restitution to the victim. Nimal was charged on Feb. 8, 2019, and pleaded guilty on March 31.
Joshua Lee Pengryn, 23, of Butler, was sentenced to six months of probation, a $300 fine, and eight hours in a litter pickup program for driving under the influence. Pengryn was charged on June 3, 2019, and pleaded guilty on April 5.
In a second case, Pengryn was sentenced to five years of probation with the first 105 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring, a $1,500 fine and an eight-hour little pickup program for driving under the influence. Pengryn was charged on June 5, 2020, and pleaded guilty on April 5.
Ryan M. Miller, 30, of Pittsburgh, was sentenced to six months of probation with the first 14 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring and a $1,000 fine for driving under the influence. Miller was charged on Sept. 21 and pleaded guilty on April 7.
Christopher D. Wright, 25, of Saxonburg, was sentenced to six months of probation with the first seven days on house arrest with electronic monitoring, 50 hours of community service and a $1,000 fine for driving under the influence. Wright was charged on April 3, 2019, and pleaded guilty on April 12.
In a second case, Wright was sentenced to one year of probation and a $500 fine for possession of a controlled substance. Wright was charged on Nov. 21, 2018, and pleaded guilty on April 12.
In a third case, Wright was sentenced to one year of probation and a $200 fine for fleeing an officer and reckless driving. He was charged on April 27, 2019, and pleaded guilty on April 12.
In a fourth case, he was sentenced to one year of probation and a $500 fine for possession of a controlled substance. Wright was charged on July 30, 2019, and pleaded guilty on April 12.
