April 15 — Michael W. Collins, 27, of Butler, was charged with possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia stemming from an April 8 traffic stop on Route 68 in Butler Township.Police said they stopped Collins for crossing traffic lines. Police said they saw an empty stamp bag in plain sight, and they later found one full stamp bag of suspected heroin inside the vehicle.April 15 — Larry J. Massella, 68, of Butler, was charged with making a false report to 911 April 9 that his girlfriend took his vehicle.Police said the vehicle is co-registered to both Massella and his girlfriend. Police said Massella had called multiple times before April 9 and was told by police to stop calling 911 on the matter.
April 15 — Michael P. Byrnes, 25, of Gibsonia, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from a March 20 single-vehicle accident on Glen Eden Road in Cranberry Township.Police said Byrnes was seated in the driver's seat, and he admitted to drinking before driving. Police said field sobriety testing indicated Byrnes was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.185%.In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.April 15 — Austin J. McClure, 25, of Cranberry Township, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from a Jan. 10 single-vehicle accident on Glen Eden Road in Cranberry Township.Police said McClure admitted to drinking earlier in the evening, and field sobriety tests indicated he was impaired. Police said blood tests later showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.209%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.April 15 — Jessica N. Hogan, 30, of Butler, was charged with retail theft stemming from a reported theft March 16 at Walmart in Cranberry Township.Police said Hogan tried to leave Walmart without paying for about $219 worth of merchandise, but those items were returned after she was stopped by store employees.Police said while investigating that incident, it was revealed that Hogan had stolen about $68 worth of merchandise on March 15.April 15 — Nicholas L. Betti, 30, of Ellwood City, was charged with indecent exposure and open lewdness stemming from a March 29 incident on Route 19 in Cranberry Township.Police said Betti exposed himself to another driver as they were passing each other.
April 15 — Antonio A. Montgomery, 24, of Slippery Rock, was charged with a first-offense DUI, simple assault and endangering the welfare of a child.Police said they were dispatched to a domestic incident at a Brady Township home, where they talked with a child who said Montgomery had bitten and hit their mother multiple times in the face.Police said they made contact with the victim at the hospital and saw her face was swollen, bruised and featured two blackened eyes. Police said the victim had patches of hair pulled out, and she had bite marks on her right forearm and chin.Police said they later located Montgomery, who appeared to be driving drunk. Police arrested him for the summation of the charges, and Montgomery refused a breath test.April 14 — Charles E. Hartmann, 26, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense controlled substance DUI stemming from a March 9 traffic stop on Route 8 in Brady Township.Police said they stopped Hartmann for a broken headlight. Police said they arrested Hartmann for an outstanding warrant.Police said they believed Hartmann had smoked marijuana during or before driving, and a later blood test showed marijuana was in his system at the time of his arrest.
