SRU softball grabs split
SLIPPERY ROCK — Kelsi Anderson tossed a one-hitter in recording the first shutout of her collegiate softball career Friday, leading Slippery Rock University to an 8-0 win over Clarion.
The Rock (8-20, 6-18) dropped the second game of the doubleheader, 8-4.
Anderson struck out eight in the first-game victory. Leah Vith had four hits for SRU in the twinbill, including a home run, four RBI and three runs scored.
Cami Fisk, Alexa Guglielmino and Anna Villes all had three hits on the day.
The Rock travels to Clarion (8-20, 6-18) for a 2 p.m. twinbill Saturday.
