Police arrest 3 in Donegal Twp.

10 bricks of opiates allegedly found in safe

Three men were arrested and charged Friday after state police say they found 10 bricks of opiates in a Donegal Township home.

Brent D. Kennard, 31; Robert E. Kennard, 41; and Shane W. Beachem, 45; were charged as co-defendants in the case. All three were roommates living in the searched home.All three were taken to Butler County Prison, where they were being held on $100,000 bond.According to charging documents, state police entered the home shortly after 6 a.m. and found all three men, a fourth roommate and that man's 5-year-old son. “During the search of the house, numerous used, uncapped syringes were located throughout the house in reach of the 5-year-old boy,” said the investigating officer in the affidavit.Police said they found multiple digital scales, cash and 191 stamp bags of suspected fentanyl in the defendants' rooms and on their persons.

Ten of those stamp bags allegedly were found on the fourth roommate. Police said the charges against the fourth roommate are pending further investigation.According to police, they also found drugs in the bathroom and in a safe. Police said the safe contained the majority of the drugs found, including seven bricks of fentanyl and three bricks of heroin.Each of the men were charged with two felony counts of drug possession with intent to sell, four misdemeanor counts of possessing a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and child endangerment.A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for April 20 before District Judge Lewis Stoughton.
