SV grad Pasquale shines in softball split

EDINBORO — Seneca Valley graduate Maura Pasquale had a big day for Edinboro in the Fighting Scots’ doubleheader split with Slippery Rock Saturday.

Pasquale had two doubles and four RBI in the first game, a 6-4 Slippery Rock victory. She had a two-run homer and single in the nightcap, a 3-2 Edinboro win.

Maggie Moore’s two-out, two-run single in the seventh helped SRU (5-17, 5-17) secure the first-game win. Moore had two hits and three RBI in the game.

Seneca Valley graduate Claire Zimmerman started the second game for SRU and took the loss, allowing three runs in three innings. Leah Vith had a single and RBI double for The Rock.

Edinboro is 7-9 overall and in the PSAC West.

Alexa Guglielmino started both ends of the twinbill for The Rock. She owns the program record of 152 consecutive games started.

SRU returns to action Tuesday, hosting Wheeling in a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
