Butler woman sentenced to jail time after drug bust
A Butler woman who police found overdosed and unconscious on a sidewalk on West Brady Street in 2017 was sentenced to jail Thursday.
A 911 caller on Nov. 1, 2017, reported that Lili M. Szymecki, 40, and a man were being dragged from a home and placed on the sidewalk. Both appeared to have overdosed, police said, and they were revived with Narcan. Police said they learned both were wanted on warrants.
A search of Szymecki's purse turned up 50 stamp bags of suspected heroin, one bag of suspected cocaine, four drug-smoking pipes and two spoons, documents indicated.
She pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Common Pleas Judge Timothy McCune sentenced her Thursday to 14 to 36 months in jail followed by two years of probation.
Szymecki's codefendant Richard J. Dortman, 60, of Mercer, pleaded guilty in the case to two counts of possession of a controlled substance and he was sentenced on Feb. 8, 2018, to six months to two years in jail and one year of probation.
In a second case, Szymecki was charged Sept. 2, 2020, and pleaded guilty April 8 to contraband/controlled substance, a felony. McCune sentenced her to two to four years in jail to be served simultaneous to the other jail sentence.
