Man allegedly ran naked and broke into golf course

Reportedly also on meth

Police allegedly found an Ohio man naked, confused and high on methamphetamine breaking into the Krendale Golf Course.

Authorities are holding Christopher M. Wilk, 30, of Parma, Ohio, in Butler County Prison on a $25,000 bond for felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass, along with several misdemeanors, after police arrested him March 27 for allegedly breaking into a building in the golf course.

An employee of the business called police after seeing a man running around in the bushes and kicking at the door of a house in the area. Wilk is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 15. He does not have a registered lawyer, according to court documents.

The golf course employee called Butler Township police around 6:30 a.m. to report the alleged burglary. He told police that when he arrived in the morning to open the golf course, he noticed an unattended vehicle with Ohio plates parked in the area.

The employee said that he then heard a loud bang and saw a man smashing glass out of the front door of the house. The employee said he took the keys from the Ohio vehicle and called 911.

When police arrived, they noticed broken glass from the front door and fresh footprints going around the house to the basement, according to the police complaint. Several officers set up a perimeter watch around the house while several others entered the house. In the attic, they said they found Wilk completely naked.

Once in handcuffs, Wilk allegedly told police that he had consumed methamphetamine. Methamphetamine, also known as speed, is a powerful, highly addictive stimulant that affects the central nervous system, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Methamphetamine causes increased activity and talkativeness, decreased appetite and a pleasurable sense of well-being or euphoria.

Wilk allegedly told police that he had “no idea why he was in the residence.” Police also claim that Wilk's eyes were bloodshot and “he was not making sense when speaking.”

An ambulance was called to evaluate Wilk.

The unattended car, police said, was registered to Wilk. Inside the car, police said they found a bag containing marijuana, a glass pipe and a metal grinder.

Along with the felonies, District Judge David Kovach arraigned Wilk on misdemeanors of loitering and prowling at nighttime, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, marijuana (a small amount for personal use), possession of drug paraphernalia and a summary public drunkenness offense.
